loading screen

When testing my site so far, i found that just the background and the logo were very big, and took a long time to load, and so at the start the site is just black for several minutes.  This means that anyone watching the site might get bored waiting for the site to load, and leave.  Therefore, i decided to make a loading screen to let the viewer know how much the site has loaded.
I decided to use Ubuntu's loading screen.  Ubuntu is one of the most famous Linux distributions, and it has a simple stylish loading screen that i like.  So today i replicated the Ubuntu loading screen, added it to my site, and the final product looks very good!

Create Process

Yay!!!  starting create process today!
So, first thing i did was create a new Swishmax document.  Then, i pulled up the background that i had gotten for my designs.  I inserted it.
Next thing was creating a logo for my site.  I used one of my favourite programs, the GIMP.  (It stands for GNU Image Manipulation Program, if you're interested.)  The GIMP allowed me to come up with a logo, and so my website now looks like this:

Today i spent ages creating a good gantt chart to be used to see my timeframe.  Here it is:

Design choice & flowchart

Ok, so now i am retyping my post for the third time. Today i had to choose one of the three designs that i created last lesson. Actually it was more complex process, and i ended up choosing the layout from the first site and the colour scheme of the second site.
The next stage of the design is creating a flowchart (seen below) which i will use to help me create my site:

Today i finished off my three possible designs.  I have a genera idea of what i wanted, and so i made the designs on powerpoint.  Now i have to choose one.

Now that the investigation is finished, we can start on the design part.  First thing to do is create a brainstorm so that i know what to design.  This brainstorm contains everything that my website should have.

My blog

CSS, and customising my BLOG

Well, today i am continuing my investigation.  But first, i want to ustomize my blog a bit.  I already chose a template, the blue-ish one, as you can see.  Anyway, i added some CSS to it (see my investigation for more info about CSS) and now when the mouse is over a particular blog, it changes to a dark blue color.  I enjoy this effect.  I also added effects to the links, so that they have different hover and normal link effects. In my investigation i have more information about how CSS is so useful for designing website effects.

Inv cont...

Right, i am continuing my investigation, and have just finishing writing about HTML.  I have included a full desctription of what it is, how javascript and CSS can improve it, and it takes up a few pages.  Now i will write more about Flash, so that i can justify choosing Flash for my website.

Investigation Start

Today i really started doing my investigation.  I checked out the investigation help sheet, and found that i had to write about html and flash, and why I chose flash.  I know quite a lot about html already, and so i started by writing about it.  By the end of the lesson Ihad a good sized paragraph, and i will continue it next lesson.  I also created a title page for my project using microsoft word 2007, which has a built in cover page function.

Word images

Today i was taught how to create an image out of a Word 2007 document!!! It involved copying the Word data and pasting it into Paint. Then it could be safely saved as a JPG via "save as" menu!!!
It was FUN!!!!
